We have to share this awesome Raw Cacao Smoothie recipe we’ve recently stumbled upon as it is a perfect addition to our smoothie archives. With Cacao, banana & dates, what’s not to like?
The original recipe is from My Darling Vegan, however, we’ve tweaked it a bit as it was a wee bit high in calories for our liking. That said, it’s still quite the indulgent little beverage so go easy 🙂
- 1 medium frozen banana, sliced (about 75g)
- 2 medjool dates, pitted (about 20g)
- 1 teaspoon raw almond nut butter
- 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- 1 cup raw almond milk (about 250 ml)
Cacao Smoothie Directions
Just mix all the ingredients together in a blender 🙂
Tips & alternatives
If you can’t get hold of raw cacao powder, try using 20g chocolate instead, ideally the dark variety with a high percentage of cacao (85% works great). Chocolate in smoothies is definitely worth a try 🙂
