If you’re into the ketogenic diet you’ve probably heard of Bulletproof Coffee. If you haven’t it’s essentially black coffee with a couple of tablespoons of coconut oil, butter and maybe another few keto friendly ingredients.
For me, though, the idea of butter in coffee kinda makes my stomach turn, and, a major calorie hit isn’t what I’m looking for, so I’ve made my own simple, awesome version.
A Keto Coffee is usually the first thing I have to break my fast in the morning, normally following an early session at the gym and a good few hours before lunch. I skip breakfast these days so Keto Coffee is fast becoming part of my regular intermittent fasting routine which is helping me burn body fat and helps to keep me in ketosis.
My recipe is super simple with Quest Nutrition’s MCT Oil Power and a teaspoon of decent quality coconut oil. I use a simple French Press / Cafetiere and mix everything together in a shaker. It tastes amazing and is well worth a look for anyone interested in the ketogenic diet and Keto Coffee.

Beware, though, there are a few people out there who have highlighted the risks of the proper version so you may wish to check out this article from Authority Nutrition.

Keto Coffee Directions
- Make a black coffee to your desired strength in a French Press or however you normally make one.
- Add the coffee to a blender or shaker
- Add 1 scoop of MCT Oil Powder and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil (about 10g)
- Mix, serve and enjoy
